Bachelor in Computer Application (BCA) is an Undergraduate Degree Programme in Computer Application. With the rapid growth of the IT industry in India, the demand for computer professionals is increasing day by day. This increasing growth of the IT industry has created a lot of opportunities for computer graduates. The BCA Programme provides a strong foundation to pursue higher studies in computer science/applications. Special emphasis is given in such a way that students may also equip themselves as Application Developers to meet the industrial needs in Local, National, and Global contexts. The BCA Programme of the CMS College (Autonomous) follows the Choice Based Credit Semester System(CBCS) as envisaged by the University Grants Commission(UGC) and the Higher Education Council of Kerala. The Programme shall be completed in six semesters. Each semester is a minimum of 18 instructional weeks, comprising 90 working days with continuous Internal Evaluation and End Semester Examination at the end of each semester. In our programme we are focused on Outcome-based Education. Outcome-Based Education (OBE) is a student-centric teaching and learning methodology in which the course delivery, assessment is planned to achieve stated objectives and outcomes. It focuses on measuring student performance i.e. outcomes at different levels. The BCA Programme comprises of the subjects like Database, Networking, Data Structure, Data Mining, Cloud Computing, Core programming languages like ‘C’, ‘Java’, ‘PHP’ and ‘Android’ and Open Source like Linux. In addition, we provide Add courses like ICT Fundamentals (Information and Communication Technology), Python for IoT, Python for Machine Learning for BCA 1st 2 nd and 3rd years students. This programme provides a lot of opportunities to the students who are interested in the computer field and wants to work in the IT sector as a programmer or software developer.
