Rev. Dr. Shiju Samuel hails from Mynagappally, Kollam, Kerala. After completing his school education, he graduated from D.B. College, Sasthamcotta. He pursued theological studies at Kerala United Theological Seminary and was ordained as a priest in 2001. Since then, he has been actively engaged in pastoral ministry, theological education and academic research.

He earned a Master’s degree in Theology through the Federated Faculty for Research in Religion and Culture, Kottayam. He further specialized in pastoral care and counselling through Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) in Chicago, USA and later obtained his Ph.D. from Yonsei University, South Korea.

In the field of theological education, Rev. Dr. Samuel served as a Lecturer at Kerala United Theological Seminary, Thiruvananthapuram and later as the Principal of Bishop Mani Theological Institute, Kottayam. He has ministered in numerous parishes across Kerala and has also served congregations in the United States and Singapore.
