Department of Physical Education

Physical Education is the interdisciplinary study of all areas of science relating to the transmission of physical knowledge and skills to an individual or a group, the application of these skills and their results. Sports and games were considered as a part of education by the European and Indian teachers. Physical Education department has officially started from the year 1950. Prof T J Mathew was in charge of the Physical Education Department from 1950-1975. It was during his time that the college stadium was provided with the first cinder track in Kottayam.
