Where The Mind Is Without Fear

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

These famous lines from Rabindranath Tagore’s Gitanjali remind us of the essence of education. It reminds us of knowledge that is limitless which has to be chiseled into wisdom, integrity and truth. At CMS College Kottayam, we hope that along with the knowledge gained during the course of study here, the student would see himself or herself as an individual with strong morals, understand social and personal commitments, and be a responsible citizen of the country.

I wish you success in everything you do.

Warmest regards,
Prof. (Dr.) Anju Sosan George
