Area of Specialization
- Biodegradable EMI Shielding materials Electromagnetic pollution is a great threat to technological development and growth of electronic industry. Fabrication of EMI Shielding materials is of great importance. We are focusing on biodegradable EMI shielding materials since it paves a path towards sustainable development. We have developed biodegradable fabrics to stifle EM radiations with naturally abundant jute fabric incorporated with conducting polymers. We are also focusing on the possibility of making shielding materials from recycled waste materials which can be beneficial for waste management as well as for suppressing EM
radiations simultaneously. - Conducting polymers and nano biomaterials. We are also working on various conducting polymers like polypyrrole and PEDOT.
We have studied the possibilty of using these polymers for various application part like EMI sheilding efficiency, dopamine sensors, etc. Another team of ours is working on nano biomaterials. We have started our work by synthesizing these composites. These were found to be biocompatible. The application part is yet to me tested. - Synthesis of nanoparticles ZnO nanoparticles are widely used in various applications due to its exceptional electronic properties. ZnO nanoparticles with desired morphology and properties can be synthesized by various techniques. We have synthesized ZnO nanoparticles by both hydrothermal and solvothermal method and investigated its potential to enhance the activity of antibiotics.
My research group has interest on synthesis of nanomaterials and nanocomposites in different methods and explores its suitability for various applications.
