Area of Specialization

My current area of research focusses on soil carbon sequestration and the role of soil biochemical indicators. It primarily focuses on understanding the processes by which carbon is captured and stored in soil. This concept is crucial in the context of mitigating climate change, as carbon sequestration in soils plays a significant role in balancing the carbon cycle and reducing atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations. The primary goal is to develop sustainable land management practices that promote the accumulation of carbon in soil, thereby contributing to climate change mitigation efforts. Agricultural practices, forestry, and land-use changes significantly impact soil carbon levels. Sustainable land management practices, such as agroforestry and no-till farming, can enhance carbon sequestration. Environmental factors, including climate and soil characteristics, influence microbial activity and decomposition rates, affecting carbon sequestration potentials.
