KapilaFest-2016 was conducted on 25thto 29thMay 2016. Department of Zoology CMS College Kottayam organized KapilaFest-2016 in collaboration with Confederation of Indigenous Cattle Breed Association Kerala,Kasaragod Dwarf Conservation Society,Centre for Innovations in Science and Social Action and Indian Veterinary Association. Major objective of the programme was the conservation of indigenous cattle breeds of India. KapilaFest includes seminar, exhibition, and interview with eminent personalities in this field and sale of the indigenous cow based products. Eminent Personalities like Dr. Argava Sharma Director National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources New Delhi and Mr. Claude Alvares, Director- Organic Farming Association of India were some of the resource persons of KapilaFest. Exhibition of the different indigenous cow verities of India attracted more than 5000 peoples from various parts of Kerala.
