NCC Unit Leads ‘Orange the World Campaign 2024’ Rally Against Gender-Based Violence
National Cadet Corps – CMS College Kottayam Unit
On 27th November 2024, the NCC Unit of CMS College Kottayam actively participated in the ‘Orange the World Campaign – 2024’, a global movement initiated to end violence against women and girls. The campaign aligns with the UN’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, and the cadets took to the streets with a purpose-driven rally in Kottayam, Kerala.
The event began from the Collectorate Junction, with cadets donning orange caps and carrying placards bearing messages promoting gender equality, women’s safety, and empowerment. The rally saw the participation of NCC officers, local dignitaries, and college faculty, who stood united in spreading awareness and pledging support for a world free from gender-based violence.
The cadets chanted slogans, distributed informative leaflets, and interacted with the public, emphasizing the importance of collective action in creating a safer and more inclusive society. The symbolic use of the color orange — representing hope and a brighter future — gave the rally a powerful visual impact.
This initiative reflected the NCC’s commitment not just to national defense and discipline, but also to social responsibility and human rights advocacy. Through their enthusiastic participation, the cadets reaffirmed their role as change-makers in building a more just and equitable world.
