Third Annual International Kerala History Conference held at CMS College
The Department of History at CMS College took the initiative in organizing the conference along with the support of the Kerala Higher Education Council, Sahitya Pravarthaka Shakarna Sangam and the Cultural department of Kerala. It was also distinct due to the presence of some of the well known historians in the country such as Dr MGS Narayanan, Dr K N Ganesh, Dr Raghav Warrier. Some of the distinguished academicians such as Dr B Ekbal, Dr Micheal Tharakan were also present at the occasion. The key note speaker of the conference was Dr Ophira Gamliel a visiting fellow at the Ruhr University, in Germany. A scholar of excellent understanding in Kerala History and well versed in the language of Malayalam, She delivered the keynote address on 26/11/2015 focusing on the topic “Conflating Evidence from the Kollam Copper Plates and the Genizah Records. The proceedings of the second international Kerala history conference (2014-2015) were also released by Dr Ophira Gamliel.
