The IQAC of CMS College Kottayam (Autonomous) as part of the UGC Paramarsh Scheme is organizing a Webinar Series on National Education Policy (NEP 2020)*. The focus of the webinar series is to orient the academic community about the impact and implications of the new National Education Policy and how it will change the higher education scenario in India and how educational institutions can leverage on the new proposals.

Prof. V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai, will speak on National Education Policy 2020: Opportunities and Challenges for the Collegiate Education System
Prof. V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai is a renowned Organic/ Polymer Chemist. Prof. Pillai had held the coveted office of the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the UGC. He was the Director of the NAAC, Bangalore. Prof. Pillai had held post-doctoral and visiting research professor positions in the University of Tübingen (Germany), Mainz, Germany and Lausanne (Switzerland). Prof. Rajasekharan Pillai is an Elected Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences. Distinguished Fellow of the Kerala Academy of Sciences, and an Honorary Fellow of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), New Delhi. He has been a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and an Honorary Senior Fellow of the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Banaglaore. Prof. Rajasekharan Pillai has been acclaimed as an institution – builder. He was instrumental in establishing several centres of higher learning; he was the founder Director of School of Chemical Sciences, M. G. University. As Executive Vice President of KSCSTE, he had established the Ramanujan Centre for Basic Science.
Presently, he is the Vice Chancellor of Somaiya Vidyavihar, Mumbai and Chancellor of ICFAI University, Thripura.
